Pre-Treatment Instructions

• 2 Days prior: If you are prone to cold sores, make sure to start to take an antiviral agent 

• 3 Days prior: Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications (Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil)

• 5-7 Days prior: Avoid waxing, discontinue retinoids, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA), beta hydroxyl acids (BHA), salicylic acids, hydroquinone & benzoyl peroxide acne products

• 2 Weeks prior: Avoid IPL/laser procedures

Post-Treatment Instructions​

• Avoid makeup/dirty brushes, exercise, swimming & sweating for 24-48 hours post treatment

• If you are prone to cold sores, continue taking antiviral agent 2 days post treatment

• Treat your skin gently; you may resume normal skincare routine 3 days post treatment

• Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications (Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil) for 7 days post treatment

• Avoid tanning & prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for 2 weeks post treatment

• Do not ice face in attempt to expedite healing process

 

What to Expect

Day 1-3: Your skin will feel dry, tight and sensitive to the touch (comparable to a sunburn.) Treat skin gently by washing it with a gentle cleanser & cool water, using hands only to pat dry; making sure to wait at least 4 hours post treatment. Swelling can last 2-4 days depending on how aggressive of a treatment you received. Make sure to plan your social calendar accordingly!

Day 2-7:  You will notice skin dryness and flaking & peeling may start 3-5 days after treatment. This is due to an increased turnover of skin cells. Do not pick, scratch, or scrub at treated skin! Allow old skin to flake off naturally and keep moisturized at all times!

Day 5-7: You may restart your regular skin care products and Retin-A once your skin is no longer irritated. For optimal results, we recommend for a repeat treatment in 4-6 weeks and a series of 3 treatments depending on your personalized care plan.
